Rachel’s Biography:
Rachel is a certified personal trainer who has over 12 years of experience helping people acheive their health and fitness goals. She specializes in correcting postural assymetries, which are not only unflattering, but can cause pain and injury which can sideline an exercise program. She has a knack for transforming a client’s physique into a lean and athletic build. She excels at training clients for a long and lean look rather than a bulky muscular look. Her programs are streamlined so that you see results quickly.
When Rachel first started her career, she mainly saw clients that were considered “healthy” (or had no complaints or issues). As she continued her training, she realized that everyone had some type of complaint or issue. Most people just don’t realize them until they become active in an exercise program. The more Rachel worked with her clients, the more ”issues” she saw. Realizing this, the more frustrated she became when she would have to refer clients out to medical professionals. She decided to return to school to get an education in physical therapy.
Rachel graduated in 2005 and started her own company. MMA Athletics. MMA was named after Rachel’s biggest inspiration, her grandmother. Rachel spent the first few years working mainly with clients that had complaints of musculoskeletal type issues. She has had much success with helping people with all different types of issues look, feel and perform better.
Rachel attends several seminars each year and beleives that continuing education is imperative to be able to provide the very best services possible. She draws inspiration from her clients to continue to grow and share her knowledge.
Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and friends and rides her horse any chance she gets. She also has two dogs and a bird. She loves to be active and would rather be a participant than a spectator. She has been active in figure skating as a participant as well as a coach. She competed in equestrian hunter and jumper events beginnig at a young age. She also enjoys martial arts and yoga.
